About
Tournaments
Competition skiing includes slalom, jump, tricks, barefoot, wakeboard and kneeboard. Tournaments are held for all levels from novice to open. Many club members compete in tournaments in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma as well as regional and national tournaments. New members that are interested in competition are assisted by other members that ski in tournaments.
Show Skiing
Each year, WWSC performs at the Wichita River fest show - believed to be the biggest single show in the nation. The club also performs shows for other events in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.
Show practice is held twice a weekly beginning in April. Pyramids, jumping, barefooting, slalom, kneeboard, wakeboard, barefooting, ballet, doubles, air chair, shoe skiing, clown acts - and others. These acts are included in Club shows. The practices are a great way to meet other club members and to learn new skills. We always need helpers for shows, including, announcers, boat drivers, dock helpers, spotters in the boat, etc.
Safety
We use safety coordinators with AWSA (USAWaterSki) certification. We keep safety equipment on hand at club events, including first aid kits neck braces & backboards. Our club rules include requirements for life jackets, helmets (for jumping) and other safety related rules. The Club places great emphasis on Safety for all aspects of boating and skiing.
